Product Description

MG-Optics is professional in manufacturing high precision optical glass Aspheric Mirror, especially in large aperture mirrors. Diameter can reach 1500mm, RMS can be 1/100 wavelength@ 632.8nm. fused silica is also premium material which has been widely used in telescope mirrors.

Fused Silica Optical Properties:

1.High temperature resistance:
The softening point temperature of quartz glass is about 1730℃, and it can be used for a long time at 1100℃. The short-term high temperature can reach 1450℃.

2.Corrosion resistance:
Except for hydrofluoric acid, quartz glass hardly reacts chemically with other acid substances. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. Particularly, its chemical stability at high temperatures is unmatched by any other engineering material.

3.Good thermal stability:
Thermal expansion coefficient: 0.58 x 10-6 /K (0℃ to 200℃). Quartz glass can withstand drastic temperature changes. It won't crack when heated to around 1100℃ and then put into room temperature water.

4.Good light transmission performance:
Quartz glass has good light transmission performance throughout the spectrum from ultraviolet to infrared. The visible light transmittance is above 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectrum region, where the transmittance can be over 80%.

5.Optical homogeneity: < 8 x 10-6.

The commonly used fused silica materials are divided into JGS1, JGS2, and JGS3, which are used for different wavelength ranges.
