Product Description
MG-Optics offers a complete manufacturing and Optical Metrology to manufacture On-Axis Parabolic Mirror up to 1000mm in diameter with surface accuracy of better than lambda/10 P-V and smoothness of 20/10 scratch/dig. All on-axis parabolic mirrors are manufactured to customer specifications and are provided with full surface quality test data.

On-axis parabolic mirror is a type of optical aspheric mirror that focuses incoming light rays to a single point, known as the focal point, along the axis of symmetry of the parabola. This design is commonly used in telescopes and other Optical System where precise focusing of light is required. The key feature of an on-axis parabolic mirror is that it eliminates spherical aberration, which is a common issue in spherical mirrors where light rays do not converge to a single point.

Key Features:
1. Shape: The reflecting surface follows a parabolic curve. A parabola is a two-dimensional shape that can be described mathematically as a set of points equidistant from a fixed point (the focus) and a fixed straight line (the directrix).
2. Focal Point: One of the key properties of a parabolic mirror is that all incoming rays parallel to the axis of symmetry will reflect through a single point called the focal point. Conversely, light emanating from the focal point will reflect off the mirror parallel to the axis, making it ideal for both focusing and collimating light.
3. Symmetry: The parabolic shape ensures that the mirror is symmetric around its axis, meaning it treats light equally regardless of the angle of incidence as long as it lies within the plane of symmetry.

Applications:
- Telescopes: Parabolic mirrors are commonly used in telescopes to collect and focus light from distant stars and galaxies.
- Laser Systems: They are used to focus laser beams to very small spots, which is critical for applications like laser cutting and welding.
- Solar Collectors: These mirrors can be used to concentrate sunlight onto a small area to generate heat or electricity.
- Radar Antennas: Parabolic mirrors are also used in radar dishes to focus radio waves.
